Kent County ranks 8th out of 11 peer counties in terms of having an educated and skilled population, in part due to a low Pre-K enrollment percentage, low population percentage with a bachelor's degree and a high percentage of the population without a high school degree.
Kent County ranks 9th out of 11 peer counties in job opportunities and career advancement opportunities, as indicated by low median household income, a low percentage of workers in management roles, a relatively high unemployment rate and a high percentage of workers in service occupations.
